How to Pitch: Yachting

yachting..My favorite yacht of late is the Seaward, but that technically is a fictional boat. "Even though you may not have a yachting lifestyle, there's still room for your byline in Yachting magazine," writes Kristine Hansen. "Deputy Editor Lisa Gosselin, who rejoined the slick, glossy title last fall, is actively looking for story ideas and new writers. 'We've got some really marvelous writers - people who have been writing for the magazine for years - and we're not looking to replace them, but we are looking for fresh voices,' Gosselin says." Good spots to break in are the sections Currents, Peers, Destinations and Seamanship. No stories about cruise ships or boats under 40 feet. And Yachting pays a buck a word. Ahoy!
