Oh Happy Day: Two New How to Pitch Guides!
For TONY, freelancers can break into the "Around Town" and "Out There" sections and pitches about upcoming events. Make sure that your pitch is directed to the right section, however. And do not recycle ideas from other publications. Pitch via email but don't make it book length. For the kids' version, most of the magazine is your oyster, especially for those looking to get their foot in the door with food writing. Also, check out "Time In" and "Take the...Train." Remember, this is not a magazine for kids and not a parenting magazine. For pitching etiquette, see above. |
