In Praise Of: FolderShare
Last week I sung the praises of one of my favorite tools. Today, one of my other favorite tools, Steve Delahoyde (who is a writer, designer, filmmaker, editor at UnBeige and somebody I date) talks about what is making his life easier these days:
I’m a big fan of this new thing Microsoft just rolled out called FolderShare. It’s a web-based file sharing service that allows you access to any of the computers you install the software on. It’s nothing revolutionary, but it’s quick, it runs on both OSX and Windows, is web-based, so I can access anything from any computer, and it’s the kind of thing that might save my life on one of those previously disastrous days when I’ve left a project on my system at home that I need for work. Or, previously even worse, when I’m out of town. For now, it’s free, in beta, and even though I haven’t had any said disasters lately, it’s been tremendously useful just passing things back and forth between my Mac and my PC laptop here at the office.
Do you have a tool, a piece of equipment, an invention that has revolutionized your freelance life? Drop me a line and tell me what it is and why it rocks so hard.
