In Praise Of: Mozy and SyncToy

thumbsupguys.jpgI’ve been putting out the call for writers and editors to tip me off to the tools, websites and systems that have been making their professional lives better. This week, Roy Jacobsen from Writing, Clear and Simple weighs in:

I’ve been very happy with Mozy, a free (as in free ice cream) online backup service. Has it revolutionized my freelance life? No, not so much. But I’m a bit more relaxed about facing the inevitable hardware failure knowing that my key files are backed up off-site.
Another helpful tool, along the lines of FolderShare, is SyncToy (also from Microsoft). It has helped me keep multiple copies of files in multiple locations syncronized, so that I know that I have the latest copy of a document whether I’m working on my laptop on my back patio, or in a client’s office, working off their network.

What’s been spicing up your freelance life? Drop me a line with your endorsement.
