More on the Bio
Writing your bio isn’t only about making yourself sound impressive or entertaining as you introduce your published piece. Even though you might not put a lot of thought into how you introduce yourself in a pitch letter, it’s not a bad idea to practice what the most concise, effective and interesting way to market and sell yourself is.
This piece from Worldwide Freelance looks at how to hone your bio, which is great because no only can you figure out the best way to write it, you can use your various 200, 100, 50 and 250word bios whenever you need them. Again, as opposed to your published-piece bio, “It’s not about you, it’s about them. Self-interest rules. So before you write a word, ask yourself about the client and the client’s needs. You must approach your bio from your client’s perspective.”
