Morning News 1.28.05Morning news, including OK! travelling, Tribune slumping and more. Oh good! Another celebrity magazine. You might recall that we also brought you the news that Celebrity Living Weekly will be launching sometime soon. Now OK!, the British celebrity weekly, will be coming Stateside. I thought the only remaining way we were superior to the Brits was that our tabs were the tiniest bit less obnoxious than theirs. Oh well. Here in Chicago, the Tribune is hurting this quarter. Pittsburgh Tribune-Review writer Eric Heyl pays tribute to deceased newsman Tony Klimko. Jann Wenner gets more out of a Bible spot than just ad income for Rolling Stone (from WSJ.) The sad job of scouring the news for dead servicemen in Iraq. (Editor and Publisher.) Also from E&P, when should it be payday for pundits? The Times can't tell fat Europeans from fat Brazilians. |
