“Seed is an exciting new magazine, but it is unconscionable for a magazine not to pay writers in a timely manner,” Association of Science Writers executive director Brett Harvey said in an e-mail to the Observer (see second item.) Freelancers impatiently awaiting payment are now finally starting to receive it, so if you wrote for Seed, your check is hopefully in the mail.
Women like music too! This fascinating idea becomes incarnate next week as Vibe Vixen hits the stands. Perhaps this will start a new wave of female spinoff magazines that aren’t about beauty or domesticity. Then again, maybe not.
