Super Service: How to Revive The Business Pub You Just Bought for ~$35 M

fastomcony.jpgFrom our trusty Editor in Chief, Elizabeth Spiers:

Ah, the classic “how to…” article! It’s a staple of service-oriented publications everywhere-and, we’ll admit, the longstanding favored format of mediabistro. But in our zeal to provide useful “how to’s” for staff writers, freelancers, editors, and the like, we realize we’ve been neglecting the media moguls, the editors-in-chief, and the network heads. “Where is the service journalism piece for me?,” we imagine [Rupert Murdoch/Jonathan Klein/Peter Olson] asking himself. “Is mediabistro not for all media professionals?”
And we think our [wholly imaginary] neglected media moguls have a point. To that end, we give you our monthly Super-Service feature series, targeted to specific people in specific situations. It’s “Dear Abby” for S.I. Newhouse.
(And if you’re not S.I. Newhouse, you may notice that the pieces look suspiciously like media news and analysis packaged as high-end service. But don’t tell S.I.; we don’t want him to feel left out.)

The first feature is an overview of the recent Fast Company sale:
