In Praise Of: Mozy and SyncToy
I've been very happy with Mozy, a free (as in free ice cream) online backup service. Has it revolutionized my freelance life? No, not so much. But I'm a bit more relaxed about facing the inevitable hardware failure knowing that my key files are backed up off-site. Another helpful tool, along the lines of FolderShare, is SyncToy (also from Microsoft). It has helped me keep multiple copies of files in multiple locations syncronized, so that I know that I have the latest copy of a document whether I'm working on my laptop on my back patio, or in a client's office, working off their network. What's been spicing up your freelance life? Drop me a line with your endorsement. |
