Just goes to show I shouldn't link to people's praises of a product, but only accept them when they're sent to me. I received the message below. I get forty lashes.
First of all, this software is only in very early beta. Second, it's only for Mac, which makes it largely useless. Third, what does it do? Fourth, Dramatica is what I'm using for my book right now.
The link makes it look like it MIGHT have some use, but really, if they're only writing for Mac, they can't make it as a product. I'm about 2/3 through Dramatica with my nonfiction narrative. It's a long process that requires a stunning amount of analysis. Because I'm the protagonist, it has made me analyze myself and my family to a point that zillions of years of therapy haven't brought me to. We'll see how it turns out in leading me to break out the chapters, and my agent is reading the first 40 (yes 40) pages of Dramatica development. So far there's no doubt it's put me where I need to be in arc, character and conflict.
