Reference Shelf 2.21.06"Do you know of a good manuscript editing service?" Writers Weekly recommends some. If like me you find some of the tips at WorldWit to be helpful, now you can catch them on podcast. Pitchers and catchers have reported. Are you ready for the baseball season, where the Chicago White Sox defend their world champion title? If you can't wait, try pitching (no pun intended) to Junior Baseball Magazine. I got two tips from a friend recently. The first seems actually helpful, the second, more for procrastination. 1) Google 411: Send a text message to 46645 (GOOGL) like "Frontera Grill Chicago" and it send you a message back within 30 seconds with the address and phone number! Type in a movie title and your zip code and you get movie time. Type a word and you can get a definition or even a translation to another language. You can find more info and tricks on Google's website. 2) Pandora: You go to the website and type in an artist you like, for example "50 cent". The site will bring up a song by the artist - you give it a thumbs up or thumbs down and the system will choose songs based on the musical qualities of that song. You eventually create a whole radio station of songs it selects just for you, based on your preferences." |
