I got two tips from a friend recently. The first seems actually helpful, the second, more for procrastination.

1) Google 411: Send a text message to 46645 (GOOGL) like "Frontera Grill Chicago" and it send you a message back within 30 seconds with the address and phone number! Type in a movie title and your zip code and you get movie time. Type a word and you can get a definition or even a translation to another language. You can find more info and tricks on Google's website.

2) Pandora: You go to the website and type in an artist you like, for example "50 cent". The site will bring up a song by the artist - you give it a thumbs up or thumbs down and the system will choose songs based on the musical qualities of that song. You eventually create a whole radio station of songs it selects just for you, based on your preferences."
