Bio-degradableWhen you're writing for the New Yorker, you don't get to use the cute bio. So you might as well get to enjoy one now. Chris Joseph at Absolute Write waxes on the creative author profile. Because everyone things the guy who just writes "John Doe lives in New York" is a jerk, like that explains everything there is to know about him. That explains why his writing is so amazing. And you don't even need to know anything more about him because if on top of his brilliant writing you found out that he graduated from Harvard or that he has two dogs, you might just fall in love with him and stalk him. Or maybe I'm just defensive because one of my most recent published bios, published after an ode to my favorite baseball team, read: Claire Zulkey is a Chicago writer who runs the blog Zulkey.com. She was at the last game at Old Comiskey Park and feels she will enjoy Game 1 of the World Series at the new park much more. She once met Frank Thomas and can attest that he is big, but far from hurtful. Actually, he was quite nice. Write to her at clairezulkey@hotmail.com. |
