Good Posture at Your Desk
The first key is to have good office equipment set up correctly: chairs, keyboards, etc. Homeworking.com has this article on setting up for good posture. Many swear by their exercise-ball chairs, and I've been tempted to try it out. It's a lot cheaper than an Aeron, and as a freelancer at home, you won't have to worry about a co-worker with scissors, a la poor Dwight Schrute. If you aren't too pressed by deadlines, there are a few exercises you might be able to work into your day. I've also heard tell that you should practice standing on one leg, like when you brush your teeth. And if that fails, well, there's always chiropractic. |
