Hunter S. Thompson

thompson.bmpSince we were off yesterday we did not get the chance to talk about this much so I've found a few obituaries and roundups covering the suicide of Hunter S. Thompson. You may not have enjoyed his work much but as writers it's important to recognize the man who paved the way for reporters to put themselves in the stories. So raise a glass to gonzo journalism.

Times' Thompson obit, book reviews and interviews.

David Essex at Flak
assigns Thompson to his students to realize that his impact is the same but not in fashion in this world.

Salon: The world is duller without Thompson, remembrances of Hunt and reviews and interviews.

Gawker gets sincere.

Audio remembrances on NPR.

Recent writings: ESPN.com archive of Thompson work.
