"Workshops Are Rubbish"

You writers out there who teach probably won't enjoy this essay by British playwright Mark Ravenhill in the Guardian, who says "Good artists make good art. Good teachers teach, often brilliantly. Rarely are the skills combined. One day, maybe the funding bodies will embrace art, and the government won't look to theatre artists to plug the gaps in our education system. But not in the foreseeable future." How does he know? Because he's a crappy workshop leader.
