A writing conference can be a wonderful, educational experience where you learn a lot and meet tons of helpful, friendly people in your field. Or, it can be a suckfest, full of obvious information, scams and pretentious jerks who need wedgies. Susan Denney has some reasons why you should attend one. Obviously, though, you can’t just walk into any writers conference and think it’ll be great. Marcia Yudkin has some tips on how to pick one that’s right for you.
