BW/Bloomberg Interviews Have Begun

businessweek coverBloomberg has begun to interview BusinessWeek staffers to decide who gets to keep a job with the newly lean magazine.

Stephen Baker tweeted yesterday: “Had interview with Bloomberg to keep BusinessWeek job. Strange experience. We’re wandering around here chatting and all dressed up.”

Current estimates put the number of BW staffers who might not make the transition to the Bloomberg offices at about 80, but Bloomberg LP prez Dan Doctoroff did say, “We are not buying BusinessWeek to gut it. We are buying it to build it.”

That means the number of BW’s 400-person staff that make the cut could be significantly higher. Here’s hoping a lot of talented journos keep their jobs.
