They’re Watching You On MySpace, Too

Recruiters, you’re using Facebook, Linkedin, and Twitter to find candidates. Why’s everyone ignoring MySpace, asks Kelly Dingee?

Well, for one, Kelly admits, the site is full of “muck.” And the number of users on MySpace is now beaten by the number of users on Facebook.

But the site has stickiness, she says. People are watching videos (and listening to music, we’d bet) and keeping their profiles current.

Kelly says that that alone makes Myspace “a” source. Not “the” source for talent, but a source. “Unless someone’s on the site doing something vile or illegal or morally repugnant,” she writes, “I’m going to see if I can use them to fill a req.”

And believe it or not, 40% of Myspace users are over the age of 25, so it’s not just middle school kids on there anymore.
