Zoho Mail Launches with Offline Support

It has a couple of mobile implications:

1. If you use a netbook running Windows XP with Google Gears, you can now take and view your Zoho email offline (say on a flight). Once turned on, this feature automatically detects your connectivity status and lets you read email from the Google Gears store/cache.
2. If you have an iPhone or iPod touch, Zoho Mail can be found along with other Zoho apps at: mobile.zoho.com. Note, however, that Zoho does not support SSL (https://) at any point including login. So, everything is sent in clear text. This may not be a huge issue for iPhone users on EDGE or 3G. However, iPod touch users using it over WiFi should be aware of this security issue.
