BBC iPlayer Streams to iPhoneJust a few days ago the BBC said it would be offering its programming on Apple's iTunes Store in the UK. Now, according to a report on Shiny Shiny, Brits will be able to stream programs from the BBC's iPlayer to their iPhone or iPod touch when they're in a Wi-Fi hotspot. The iPlayer is a free online service that lets folks in the UK catch free streams of BBC programs for seven days after they're broadcast. So, the ability to stream the shows to an iPhone not only frees viewers to watch them from any hotspot, it also frees them from having to shell out the money to download individual episodes from iTunes.
Also, all iPhone and iPod touch owners in the UK have cheap nationwide access to The Cloud's Wi-Fi network of more than 7,500 hotspots, including the entire City of London. Email This Post |
