Ireland Getting iPhones in March, Only from O2

Irish consumers are next in line for getting the iPhone. According to Macworld, O2 Ireland has said it will start selling the touch-screen handsets on March 14. As is the case with most Apple carriers, O2 will be the exclusive provider in that country. O2 is also the exclusive iPhone carrier in the UK.

The iPhone will be available in O2 retail shops as well as in Carphone Warehouse locations, with the 8GB model selling for 399 euros and the 16GB selling for a hefty 499 euros.

In other iPhone news, Apple COO Tim Cook told the audience at the Goldman Sachs Investment Symposium yesterday that the company is "right on track for where we want to be" in terms of meeting its goal of 10 million iPhones sold by year-end, iLounge reports.
