Stuff.tv reporter Mark Wilson writes that a Nike+ spokesperson told him the company will be extending the Nike+ fitness system's compatibility beyond the iPod Nano, to both the iPhone and the iPod Touch. He said the new version of the program would use both devices' built-in Wi-Fi radios to update your training logs on the fly.

"Once you've legged round your local park you'll be able to send the data (probably via a software app like the one the new SportBand uses) wirelessly without having to sit down and drip sweat over your computer."

Nike+ consists of a sensor you put in your sneaker that automatically tracks your runs, including your distance, pace, calories, and time spent, all while listening to tunes on your iPod Nano. Then you connect the iPod to your computer, upload all your data online, view graphs, join community events, create "sport iMixes," and more.
