BlackBerry Music Gateway: Bluetooth Solution or Nightmare?
The Official BlackBerry Blog steps you through the process of setting up and using the $89.99 BlackBerry Music Gateway... Wirelessly stream MP3s from your BlackBerry device to car stereo You can use it to stream music from a BlackBerry with BlackBerry Device Software 4.2.2 or later. The Music Gateway wireless streams music from the BlackBerry using the Bluetooth A2DP audio streaming profile to the Music Gateway which is then plugged into a car's 3.5mm mini-jack audio port. Having gone through a number of Bluetooth pairing experiences that were, shall we say, less than optimal, I wonder if it is worthwhile to use such a product. If your car has a mini-jack audio port, wouldn't it be simpler to just buy a cable to plug in your smartphone (assuming it has a 3.5mm audio out jack) to your car? Email This Post |
