Android Phones from Samsung, LG By Year-endThe Korea Times reports that both Samsung and LG will have Android-based handsets available in the US by the end of the year. In case you missed it, Google's Android open mobile platform, which has the support of more than 30 industry players who've forged the Open Handset Alliance, was the hot topic at this week's Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. "We have been talking with Sprint Nextel, the No. 3 U.S. mobile wireless operator, for the development of the 'Google Phone' with the launching slated for later this year," a Samsung spokesperson told the paper. LG, which also intends to have an Android-based phone out before the end of the year, has been chatting with a few carriers in the States, including T-Mobile, the paper learned from an LG spokesperson.
