...is one of several products I've seen over the last couple of years that attempts to limit the sound volume children listen to by providing an attractive looking headset with built-in sound level limits. It limits sound to 85 decibels. DangerousDecibals.org says this is about the same level as busy city traffic makes. In comparison 75db is comparable to a washing machine and 95 is a gas mower or hair dryer. The National Institute on Deafness and Other Communications Disorders says that: Prolonged exposure to any noise at or above 85 decibels can cause gradual hearing loss. So, even the 85db limit here can be tested by music that is loud all the way through.

Oddly, Griffin's website does not provide a retail price. And, I've seen both $30 and $40 prices associated with the MyPhones.
