Mobile Media to Top $64 Billion by 2012As a follow-up to our post about the $5 billion mobile advertising projection for 2012, RCR Wireless News said that the entire worldwide mobile entertainment market (the whole thing, not just advertising) will grow from about $20 billion last year to more than $64 billion by that same year, driven by music, games and mobile TV, according to a new report from Juniper Research. Mobile music will remain the largest sector within the mobile entertainment industry, growing from $9 billion last year to $17.5 billion in 2012, said Juniper. Mobile gaming will ring in second place with an increase from $5 billion last year to $16 billion. Finally, mobile TV revenues should rise from $1.4 billion in 2007 to $11.9 billion in 2012, the article said. Email This Post |
