Consumers Want Mobile Apps, but Don't Use ThemSeventy-nine percent of mobile phone users in the US, UK, Germany, Italy and Spain would be willing to have ads attached to their mobile e-mail messages is that meant that the service were free. That's according to research commissioned by messaging software and services provider Critical Path and conducted by Vanson Bourne. The research also showed that 62% of mobile consumers surveyed are interested in using mobile e-mail services, but don't currently take advantage of them. Some 58% of respondents expressed interest in trying a new data service if it were free, while only 5% said they'd be encouraged to try a new service just because it was recommended by a friend.
