As more banks start making services like funds transfers, bill payment and account management accessible from cell phones, Juniper Research expects the concept to really take off. In a new study, Juniper forecasts the number of mobile banking transactions worldwide to grow from 2.7 billion in 2007 to 37 billion a year by 2011, according to a Telecoms.com report on the research.

The growth will depend on increased consumer confidence, which in turn depends on the financial institutions implementing greater security measures.
