According to new research from mobile games publisher Magmic Games and Information Solutions Group (ISG), some 90% of BlackBerry and other smartphone users who play mobile games said that the smartphone gaming experience is superior to that of a traditional feature phone.

Out of that group, 91% said they'd be unlikely to switch back to a traditional feature phone for their mobile entertainment needs, citing the smartphone’s better image quality, larger screen size, easier controls and easier downloading.

Just over half of the respondents said their smartphone has become their dominant game platform, beating out the PC, console, handheld, arcade and other platforms.

The survey also found:

- 65% of BlackBerry device or smartphone users purchase a mobile entertainment product (games, themes, music or other products) at least once every three months.

- 45% of respondents earned an annual household income of $100,000 U.S. or more; 63% work as business executives/professionals.

- Puzzle games were identified as the most popular game genre, with 60% of respondents reporting that they enjoyed those types of games.

- 41% of respondents indicated that they played games during their workday, with 69% doing so primarily during lunch or other official breaks.

- 79% of those that play games at work said that they felt "more relaxed and less stressed out" after playing mobile games, by far the most cited feeling produced.
