Fishlabs, a 3D mobile game developer out of Germany, has taken to sending customers their games as e-mail attachments rather than as over-the-air downloads to counteract the high data transfer charges, Develop magazine reports.

Because of the high graphics quality of the company's games, they can be up to a megabyte in size, which can take a while to download over a mobile network and end up being rather expensive. Because of this, Fishlabs co-founder and CEO Michael Schade told the publication, Fishlabs is "offering hassle- and cost-free delivery of our mobile games as e-mail attachments."

Users who can't receive e-mail attachments on their phones can download the attachment on their PC and then transfer the game to their mobile using a USB cable or Bluetooth. Schade also pointed out that this new method of game distribution gives users a backup copy so they don't have to worry if they accidentally delete the game or upgrade their phone.
