Second Life, the 3D virtual world from Linden Lab is now available on mobile phones, thanks to 3G mobile streaming service provider Vollee.

The beta version of Vollee's mobile Second Life currently works on 40 3G, Wi-Fi-enabled handsets, with a version for the iPhone and additional devices coming soon.

Vollee's application gives Second Life Residents full access to their existing accounts from their phone once they've downloaded a small client. The company's interactive video streaming platform optimizes compression to use less bandwidth, making it possible for gamers to navigate through the graphically rich virtual world without the lag commonly found on wireless networks.
