Qualcomm CEO: MediaFLO Rollout More Sluggish Than AnticipatedQualcomm's push into the broadcast mobile TV space has been going slower than the company would like, CEO Paul Jacobs said in a keynote at the Tech Policy Summit this morning, RCR Wireless News reports. "[The carriers] haven't spent a lot of advertising on it to this point," Jacobs said in the report, adding that they may be waiting for MediaFLO to increase its coverage. MediaFLO USA, a Qualcomm subsidiary, introduced services with Verizon Wireless more than a year ago and has plans to launch through AT&T Mobility, although that rollout has suffered multiple delays, according to the article. The CEO discussed various issues that led to the delays, such as legal troubles, the need for patent reform, the recent 700 MHz spectrum auction, and how the immigration controversy is impacting new hires for the company.
