Revenues from mobile search services will hit $4.8 billion a year by 2013, according to a new study from Juniper Research. A lot of the growth will come from local search services, which will make up some 40% of the money spent on mobile search from 2008-2013, a Cellular-news report on the research says.

Also during that time, the current large gap between mobile search revenue from data charges and related revenue coming from the nascent mobile advertising market will close, the report found.

According to the research, the increase in mobile search will come from improved user experience, the decline of operator "walled gardens," lower-cost or flat-rate data plans and major pushes by the likes of Yahoo and Google.
