In an earlier post, we reported on how the iTunes Store, while incredibly successful in selling music, isn't having nearly as much luck selling movies and TV shows.

With that in mind, it's no surprise that sales of the new Apple TV are also falling short of expectations.

We still like the idea of being able to buy a movie once, and then watch it on your iPod, iPhone, laptop, or living room television (with the Apple TV). But we doubt most people will go for it until prices come down a bit further on all sides.

It also wouldn't hurt if Apple TV had better video quality, and if it let you watch all of your content and not just Apple's. Or better yet, if it was a real digital video recorder, like a TiVo.
