AT&T: Mobile Video Economics Don't WorkIt's no secret that mobile video isn't doing all that well in the U.S. But why is that? The economics don't work yet, said Mark Collins, vice president of consumer data services for AT&T, in a report by Fortune blogger Jon Fortt. Collins said in the Fortune interview that everyone is trying to figure out how to make it work on the industry side. But customers aren't taking to it, and the reasons aren't exactly difficult to figure out. "Everything that we're doing on mobile is sort of the opposite of what customers are doing with their own consumption habits," Collins says. "Bigger screens, higher resolution, on-demand, long-form content - I can't really do any of that right now." AT&T exec: mobile video not ready for prime time [Fortune] Email This Post |
