AT&T Prorates Cancellation FeesAT&T Wireless, the biggest U.S. mobile service, said on Tuesday that it will reduce some fees for customers who exit phone contracts before they are completed, in an effort to offer users more flexibility, according to a new Reuters report. There are two great things about the new announcement. First, customers will no longer be charged a flat (and exorbitant) fee to leave their contract. Instead, the cancellation fee will depend on how much time is remaining in the contract. The other good thing is that customers can now add or subtract features to their plan, or even change their plan altogether, without having to "restart the clock" on a new 2-year agreement. This move is similar to one that Verizon had announced last year. AT&T Prorates Early Termination Fees [Reuters via PC Magazine] Email This Post |
