Data Charges Reel in the Mobile Webmin online asks if it's really fair that we have to pay extra for broadcast mobile TV. First we need a new handset; then we have to pay from $15 to $25 per month on top of it. And what do we get? Ad-supported channels that virtually duplicate the home TV viewing experience; you know, the one you're already paying a huge cable bill for. We doubt anyone expects all 100+ million cellphone users in the US to decide it's OK to tack those charges onto their monthly bill. But it's the price some people pay to be an early adopter of new technology. Eventually, the services become more robust, the handsets improve, and prices come down.
