Nokia Greenlights Streaming VideoNokia is all over mobile media lately. MediaPost reports that Nokia has launched Medeo, a streaming video service focused on entertainment and lifestyle content: "Medeo is accessible through the www.nokia.mobi portal features celebrity news and interviews, movie trailers, and music and fashion-related videos. The new ad-supported video service is available on all Nokia E- and N-series phones." This author checked out Medeo several times over the past year and found it to be a worthy service. Streamed video still isn't up to the quality of broadcast video, but that's not Medeo's fault; it's the lack of enough bandwidth from the carriers, even on their high speed EV-DO and HSDPA networks. Not only that, but there are still just a handful of broadcast TV-capable phones available at present. Nokia Launches Streaming Video Service [MediaPost] Email This Post |
