Perooz Creates Web Ad Converter for CellphonesPerooz.com just launched a technology platform that allows publishers to port both new and existing content, including ad campaigns, from the Web to any mobile media device, according to MediaPost. Part of the problem preventing advertisers from moving to the cellphone world - and therefore sponsoring more content, such as mobile-exclusive video and services - is that it's literally difficult to create mobile ads. Just as with designing mobile software or Web sites, publishers have to contend with hundreds of different handsets, screens, browsers, carriers, and data plans. In theory, publishers could use Perooz.com's new tool to convert existing ad-supported content to play on cellphones, iPods, and other devices without extra (and costly) development cycles.
