Now here's an interesting addition to the whole "Will Microsoft Actually Take Over Yahoo" Saga: The New York Times is reporting that News Corp. is considering adding its weight to Microsoft's side of the battle.

Citing "people involved in the discussions," the Times says that the Microsoft-News Corp. talks are at a delicate stage. "There's a long way to go before anything is definite," one of those people told the newspaper.

Having the assets of Rupert Murdoch behind it would allow Microsoft to raise its bid, as Yahoo has been demanding, and put additional pressure on Yahoo's shareholders.

One possible result of the three-way deal could be News Corp. contributng its Fox Interactive Media unit, which includes MySpace, to the new Microhoo, the Times speculates.
