The LiMo Foundation, an industry group founded by Motorola, NEC, NTT DoCoMo, Panasonic, Samsung and Vodafone, said today that it expects to make its mobile Linux platform available next month.

According to InformationWeek, the launch schedule means that the guidelines for LiMo's platform will most likely hit the streets before Google's Android platform that’s coming out of its Open Handset Alliance.

The magazine points out that the OHA and LiMo have a few of the same members, "so it’s not clear whether the two approaches will compete with or complement each other."
