Unlike Apple, Microsoft Embraces Flash for MobilesShowing once again that it's hard to compare Apples and Microsofts, Microsoft has licensed Adobe's FlashLite technology to add Flash support to Windows Mobile devices. This is the same version of Flash that Apple chief Steve Jobs said isn't good enough to license for the iPhone. In her All Things Microsoft blog on ZDNet, Mary Jo Foley writes that the announcement comes the week after Microsoft said that version 1.0 of its Flash competitor Silverlight will have Windows Mobile 6 support sometime in Q2. Microsoft also licensed the Adobe Reader LE application for reading Acrobat files on a mobile device. Email This Post |
