AT&T Picks Yahoo for SearchGoogle is far-and-away the leading mobile search service, with over 60% of the market (according to Nielsen numbers). Although that's unlikely to change, Yahoo has scored itself a partnership with AT&T that should help it close the gap - at least a little bit.
Yahoo will also provide sponsored search advertising within the mobile search results. Local search info will come from AT&T's YellowPages.com. Verizon Wireless, meanwhile, is expected to name Google as its default search partner, which just might negate any gains Yahoo gets through the AT&T deal. Email This Post | ||||
