Clooney vs. Huffington [FishbowlLA]
Remember a couple days ago when George Clooney so selflessly and courageously proclaimed his liberal orientation in a Huffington Post blog-post? Well, turns out he didn't write the post, and he's angry.

Knight Ridder Washington editor Clark Hoyt (He Who Shall Not Take Over KR-McClatchy DC Bureau) today announced the departure of Knight Ridder's Washington bureau foreign editor, Steve Butler. Butler leaves to become the executive director of the Institute of Current World Affairs.
Countdown-Lowdown-Smackdown: Grove Calls Olbermann 'Deranged' [FishbowlNY]
Round 2 in the Lloyd Grove-Keith Olbermann grudge match sees Grove call Keith "Krazy," with a "K," then defend Katherine Thomson, his "twentysomething" assistant.
World News Tonight Western Edition 'All But Abandoned' [TVNewser]
Observer: "The news division has suspended one feature of its revamped evening programming: the nightly live West Coast feed. That broadcast, at 9:30 p.m. EST, was meant to win over the largely untapped California audience with fresher news. But owing to the strain it put on the rotating fill-in anchors, the project has quietly been all but abandoned for now." A TVNewser e-mailer asks: "Are any of the journalists who claimed it was so innovative going to write about its demise?"

Gimme Moore, Gimme Moore [GalleyCat]
So after chatting with Dave Itzkoff last night about how he landed his Sunday NYT interview with Alan Moore, the comic-book scribe who co-created the source material for V for Vendetta, I woke up this morning to discover Heidi MacDonald of The Beat had posted her own interview with Moore.
A Memoirist's Memory: True Or False? [MBToolBox]
Lee R. Schreiber: I'd like to believe stringent journalistic standards were applied to my last book, a memoir. But that belief, most recently and rancorously raised by James Frey's A Million Little Pieces, might be disingenuous if not downright delusional. Hard as I tried to maintain a totally open, honest, and committed relationship with my readers, I knew I was doomed to fail.
