For Colbert, Today's Word is "Book Deal" [FishbowlNY]
Stephen Colbert, host of The Colbert Report on Comedy Central, is going to be dropping the "t" for a new book, due in September 2007 from Warner Books the same imprint that brought us America (the Book).
CNN Refutes Gallup Memo; Says Memo Was Unprofessional & Untrue [TVNewser]
"Jim Clifton's statements are not only unprofessional but in every respect untrue. Jim Walton actually spoke with Jim Clifton, CEO of The Gallup Poll, and was told by Mr. Clifton that the reason that Gallup wanted to end their partnership was that the CNN brand was so dominant that Gallup wasn't getting the attention for the polls that they wanted."
YouTube, Television's New Frenemy [FishbowlLA]
Close your eyes and pretend you're a television network. JT's Mentor Writes Novel About Fake Writer [GalleyCat]
Alev Croutier, a founder of San Francisco publisher Mercury House and author of several books, says the book she's working on now is "based on an actual literary hoax that involves a famous writer and three women who live in a harem in Turkey ... at the turn of the 20th century."
The Post Gets Red (and Red-esigned) [FishbowlDC]
The Post announced their first conservative blog, "Red America," which is authored by RedState.org co-founder Ben Domenech. One could argue that Domenech is meant to balance out Dan Froomkin and/or Dana Milbank, but Domenech made it very clear with his beginning post that he lived further from the center than either.
Baltimore Ad Agency Adopts Exit Strategy [Unbeige]
It would appear that when three Baltimore ad execs needed a name for their new agency, they looked to the nearest freeway for inspiration. However, the name Exit10 originated from a more dubious source, if you ask the folks at agency Exit3a. No word from the UK band, Pennsylvania band, Brazilian jazz band, or blog named Exit 10.
Interview Day [MBToolbox]
What the hell, huh? Sometimes you just have to live on the edge. I've got several posts' worth of useful tips on conducting good interviews, so why don't I just call it a theme day and use them all at once? This is what life is all about, people.
