fnc_daily_show_ripoff.jpgFox News Pilot: Daily Show Rip Off? [TVNewser]
Fox is working on a show pilot styled after Jon Stewart's Daily Show, TVNewser has learned. Laura Ingraham was at FNC shooting something over the weekend. An anonymous tipster says Ingraham's pilot is known as Watch This Right Now. The tipster calls it "an absolutely terrible rip off of Daily Show."

Malcolm Gladwell's Blog Picks At New York Times' Carcass [FishbowlNY]
Last night, Gladwell criticized bloggers for feeding off of the New York Times' "carcass," arguing that without the Times, there would be "no blog community." What Gladwell conveniently failed to mention: two of the last four posts on his own blog do just that. FBNY Video: Gladwell to blog for New Yorker.

Tough Calls [FishbowlDC]
Both the Los Angeles Times and New York Times report that counterterrorism officials are tracking the financial records of people suspected of having ties to Al Qaeda. The program was first reported last night on the two paper's websites along with the Wall Street Journal. LAT ran the story despite Treasury Department officials urging the publication not to.

Peter Pan Heirs Protest Wendy's Porn Comic [GalleyCat]
Comic book writer Alan Moore's latest project, Lost Girls: a "porno-graphic" novel in which Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz meets Alice from Alice in Wonderland and Wendy from Peter Pan, and they tell each other X-rated versions of their stories while having hot sex with each other.

LAT in 90 Seconds [FishbowlLA]
Today's entry in the Tribune Co.-Chandler family circus: the unmasking of the accounting genius who engineered the sale of the Times Mirror Co. to Tribune Co., former Times Mirror CFO, Thomas Unterman. A financial wizard with a kind of shaman-like reputation on Wall Street, Unterman remains close to the Chandlers and may be an invisible hand in its current fracas with Tribune.

Bob Ross: The Video Game [UnBeige]
The company behind the game is holding a contest to paint landscapes in the same style as the forever brilliant, dearly departed, Mr. Ross. They're opening up the contest on July 4th it looks like and the winners get their work both embedded in the game and on the box cover.

How To Write A Non-Fiction Book In Three Months (And Not Drive Yourself Crazy In The Process) [MBToolBox]
Shanti Sosienski: Last fall I was both delighted and mortified when I found out from my agent that my book deal had gone through in early October. By the time the papers were signed we were looking at about three months to actually write a non-fiction book about eighteen women runners from around the world.
