The NYT's Jacques Steinberg reports that former CBS anchor Dan Rather is suing the station, its corporate partners, and three former superiors. The suit, which claims "the network violated [Rather's] contract by giving him insufficient airtime on 60 Minutes after forcing him to step down as anchor of the CBS Evening News," names among its defendants: CBS CEO Les Moonves, Viacom head Sumner Redstone, and Andrew Heyward, the former president of CBS News.
