Michelle Obama, Hot Author? (NYO)
Laura Bush is writing a children's book with her daughter. Publishers in New York want Michelle Obama to write a grown-up book, by herself. The price quoted for the paper keeps changing, but it's pretty fair to call it a fire sale. So what does Sam Zell know that these New York media veterans don't?
Hallmark Prepares to Launch HD Movie Channel With Heartland Hoopla (TV Week)
Henry Schleiff, CEO of Crown Media, seemed to know the answer to the old showbiz question "Will it play in Peoria?" At least when it comes to Crown's Hallmark Channel and its new hi-def offshoot, the Hallmark Movie Channel. Schleiff is holding the launch event for the HD channel April 2 in Peoria, Ill., complete with a screening of the Hallmark Hall of Fame movie The Magic of Ordinary Days and an appearance by Ernest Borgnine.
