Susan Lyne has stepped down for undisclosed reasons after four years as chief executive of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia and the job is being split between two company executives. The media company said Wednesday that Wenda Harris Millard, who is currently president of media at Martha Stewart, and Robin Marino, president of merchandising, would serve as chief executives.

Media Figures on Clintons' Enemies List (NYT)
The news media have already focused on some list entries, including the online gossip purveyor Matt Drudge (who had the nerve to show up at Mrs. Clinton's departure speech on Saturday), Todd S. Purdum of Vanity Fair (the author of a recent profile of Mr. Clinton), and the cable network MSNBC (whose hosts Chris Matthews and Keith Olbermann are charter list members, Clinton associates said).

ABC Likely to Reshape World News Webcast (WSJ)
ABC News is close to scrapping the current format of its daily World News Webcast, an online version of the evening news anchored by Charles Gibson, which the network trumpeted as a major step into its digital future when it launched two years ago. ABC's news-division president, David Westin, says the network is considering ways to reinvent the broadcast, including as a series of updates throughout the day.

The LA Times's Human Wrecking Ball (WaPo)
Harold Meyerson: In his brief tenure atop the Trib empire, Sam Zell has concluded that the proper response to the very real troubles in which the newspaper industry finds itself is to cut back on what newspapers offer. When Zell took over, the LA Times had already been through successive rounds of buyouts and layoffs administered by Tribune executives, but Zell has taken bean counting to a whole new level.

Broadcasters: 20% of Revenue from Digital (B&C)
A trio of broadcast CEOs laid out ambitious digital strategies at the Deutsche Bank Media Conference here Tuesday, with retransmission-consent fees the focus of the game plan. Gray Television's Robert Prather, LIN TV's Vince Sadusky, and Nexstar Broadcasting Group's Perry Sook said collecting from cable, satellite and telco providers for the right to air their stations' signals wasn't a question of if, but how much.

Dallas Morning News to Launch Free Home-Delivered Paper (AP via DMN)
The Dallas Morning News is launching a free, one-section version of the paper for home delivery aimed at nonsubscribers who are short on time. The Morning News said Tuesday that it would print 200,000 copies of the new paper, to be called Briefing, on Aug. 27 and distributed in affluent parts of its circulation area.
