Web's Niche TV Programs Win Sponsors (WSJ)
Geek.tv's signing of GoDaddy reflects how a rising tide of marketer interest in Web video is lifting all sorts of Internet boats. Niche Web programs like "Geek" are attracting the attention of some big marketers. While their audiences are tiny Geek Entertainment TV says it averages 10,000 to 20,000 viewers a show, though its most popular shows attract as many as 100,000 viewers their viewers are loyal.
OK!'s U.S. Editor Sarah Ivens, Says She's Got the Better of the Gossips (Times of London)
After a troubled start, OK! is flying high. In a crowded, celebrity-obsessed magazine market OK! has grown 54.3 percent in the past year and is selling more than 850,000 copies a week. Ivens has scooped established rivals such as US Weekly, People and Star, and is now big enough to be a target of New York's vicious media watchers, who claim she is almost always on the brink of being fired.
CBS, Washington Post in Online News Deal (AP via Yahoo! News)
CBS News and The Washington Post have forged an alliance to share news resources for their online outlets CBSNews.com and WashingtonPost.com during the 2008 presidential campaign. The two companies are planning to announce the arrangement on Tuesday and begin sharing news video and stories about the presidential campaign on the same day. Readers will be able to engage reporters from both CBS's news division and the Post in live chats and other online interactions.
Kitman Makes Huffington Posts Official (B&C)
Marvin Kitman, former Newsday TV critic, has officially joined the online community as the TV critic for The Huffington Post. Kitman who has been contributing to the Web site since late May, has agreed to become a regular fixture, continuing to contribute two columns a week for the blog.

Now it looks as if social networking could heat up the market for initial public offerings.

In print, the magazine seems to have mastered that balance well. It will be interesting to see if it can strike a healthy and advantageous balance in the online realm without letting one strength overshadow the other.

Cybercrooks Prey on YouTubers (PC World)
Security experts are warning about emails bearing false claims a video featuring you is available on YouTube. Emails are being blasted out to untold millions stating: "You can see your face right in the video. its all over the web dude. this is the link to it." According to Exploit Prevention Labs, which posted information about the threat, this is the latest iteration of the ongoing so-called Storm Worm attack.
